valuable classroom resource
I was impressed by the selection of stories and the creative way she makes them accessible for both children and young adults. Teachers can pick and choose not only the focus of topic, but also the focus of the lesson since Ms. Davidson includes many creative activities that help bring the stories alive.

I love this book!
The Old Testament: Ten Plays for Readers Theater, is a wonderful book! This book would be wonderful for a Sunday School class, a Christian school, or just to enjoy at home. I really enjoyed reading this book. It really makes the story sink in; the Bible is hard to understand, this book is more towards our level. This book provides a highly enjoyable way to learn the storys of the bible!

Road Rules

Parents and Teens: Don't Miss This One
"Road Rules" takes the knowledge base needed to drive safely and distills it down to a format easily read and understood. As the mother of four adolescents, my main goal in life in to help them all arrive at age 21 alive. I found the book extremely helpful, and one my children are actually willing to read as well. The book is organized in five sections: Things You Should Always Do, Things You Should Never Do, Maintenance Makes a Difference, Better Safe than Sorry, and An Ounce of Common Sense. Rules include everything from driving behind a truck so that you can see the truck's sideview mirror, to lowering the antenna before pulling into a car wash, to never picking up a hitchhiker. There are many more --- things we mean to mention to our teens before they take the wheel, but don't always remember to say. "Road Rules" is well worth the investment --- don't miss it!

Perfect gift for new drivers!
I was thrilled to find the perfect gift for the all important sixteenth birthday! This book is filled with a lot of common sense - but not necessarily the common sense most people under the age of 30 have. I read the book through in a short amount of time and was reminded of a few things that bear being reminded of when it comes to auto safety. It's a cute book and is a fun and thoughtful gift for anyone who is a new driver. It's a good read for any driver.

Story of Live Dolls: Being an Account
Published in Hardcover by Doll Works (August, 1981)
Authors: Josephine Gates and Virginia Keep
Average review score:

Story of Live Dolls
This is a magical story that is vividly written in intricate detail. My daughter is the fourth generation to listen to tales of the dolls in Cloverdale coming to life. The beautiful Doll Queen comes in a carriage pulled by kittens to let the neighborhood girls know of the wondrous news. When the dolls come to life, they are treated to a sumptious picnic, a day at the beach, and are allowed to "pick" new bonnets, parasols, and dresses from trees of doll clothing. The Doll Hospital is also visited, where broken and mistreated dolls are mended. There's an enchanting passage about life in one backyard dollhouse that will have you yearning to be a child once again. This is truly a not to be missed favorite!

Every "little girl" who loves dolls should read her dream.
As a child, any little girl who has loved her dolls has wondered what would happen if they were alive. Ms. Gates lets you know. The Live Dolls at Christmas espeacially magnifies what has been in most of our hearts when Santa left the precious baby doll we yearned for. More than any of her other accounts, I would like to find this particular one. It was in the omnibus of stories called "Live Dolls in Wonderland."

Archaeology of the Dreamtime: Josephine Flood
Published in Hardcover by Collins Publishers Australia (January, 1989)

The prehistory of Australian Aboriginal People
This is book is an exploration of the prehistory of the Aboriginal peoples of Australia - and peoples they are, not just one homogeneous race that the name Aborigines seems to suggest. There is even a suggestion that there may be mixtures of robust and gracile forms of early humankind in their makeup - perhaps uniquely of all races.

The whole issue of human development, of arising consciousness, is one that fascinates me. I keep thinking of the strange hypnogogic and hypnopompic experiences I sometimes encounter and I wonder if in the dreamtime - in humankind's early beginnings - these shadowy forms of consciousness were all that early people experienced.

Josephine Flood explores the mysteries of Aboriginal peoples - such as how they could have so early in human history have reached so far south (such as at Lake Mungo). Compared to the colonisation of the American continent, the colonistaion of Australia is so much earlier and yet the continent is certainly not an immediately appealing destination. And then there is the mystery of why the isolated Tasmanian Aboriginals quite suddenly stopped eating fish and seafood.

Not all these explorations are encouraged by the modern Aboriginal people and yet I am sure that a true understanding of their uniqueness will return some respect to Aboriginals for being just that - Aboriginals - rather than trying to massage them into some creditable position in what is largely an alien society.

This is a wonderful story of discovery, of posing mysteries and suggesting possibilities.

I never read the book but I saw the episode on TV. Cleo ,
T-bone, and Clifford all were making leave piles. Only T-bone didn't jump in his because, he had to go play fetch with Sheriff Louis. Clifford was extremely tempted and jumped in them. They scattered all over the island. The went all over the island and got them back. They put them back in the yard and waited. Clifford was still tempted, but didn't jump. When T-bone got back they gathered more leaves and added them to the pile. Then they all jumped in it. When they asked T-bone how his game of fetch was he said pretty good. They said they had a pretty good game of fetch too, which was getting back the leaves!Only they didn't tell T-bone. You'll like watching it on TV and I hope you will like the book
